Carl Fogarty, who has had an illustrious career as a champion World Superbike racer and was recently crowned the King of the Jungle, presented the awards to talented apprentices for their achievements. Carl also took part in a Q & A session, where he talked to learners about his experiences and the dedication it takes to succeed.

Training 2000’s engineering manager, Paul Duerden, said:

"The annual Engineering Awards are always a great way to reward our learners’ efforts and Carl was a delightful guest. They all work very hard, show commitment and determination and we believe this should always be recognised.

The calibre of learners this year was very high as usual and it is clear that the future of engineering is bright.

The event took place at UTC Lancashire, in Burnley and was a huge success."

Nuvia's Chief Mechanical Engineer, John Larne, said.

"Congratulations to Ben on winning these awards. Yet another success storey from our apprentices who continue to achieve the highest standards in the industry. Our apprenticeship scheme is producing top quality engineers and designers and all apprentices and their mentors should be proud of our success.

Well done Ben"
